The Geelong Ballroom Dance Club, a not for profit organization, was established in 1984. Its Committee leases the multi-purpose facility known as The Ballroom from the City of Greater Geelong. It has the responsibility of organizing a weekly dance for ballroom dancers, as well as managing the facility for dance classes, practice and members of the wider community who rent rooms for a range of group activities and social events. Please contact us if you are interested in using the facility.

The Geelong Ballroom holds ballroom dances every Saturday night from 7:30 pm to 10:15 pm in our large comfortable purpose-built venue located on the Corner of Bayview Parade and Carey Street, Hamlyn Heights, next door to the Tennis Courts. Our group is very welcoming and generally has about 60 to 80 people attending. There is a variety of music each week, from live music, to enthusiastic dance instructors putting together a great cross-section of ballroom CD music, that will guarantee to get your ballroom toes a-tapping. Dance to a variety of New Vogue, Latin and Modern styles catering for beginners, intermediate and advanced abilities.

The night is great fun and of course dancing enhances social and physical well-being and stimulates good mental health.  If you’re interested in dancing and don’t know where to start then the friendly Committee and patrons will help you get started.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a plate to share so there is time to have a chat, catch up with existing friends and even make some new ones.

You’re warmly invited to join us each Saturday evening for social dancing in a purpose-built facility just for ballroom.  We believe we’ve got the best dance floor in town.
